NOTE: This article may be extremely graphic and offensive to some, you want the truth? well you cant handle it buddy.
so, i want to share with everyone my experience in Algeria because its completely different than i could of ever imagined, it both captivated me and has opened my view on the world and on people too, we are not alone…
what i mean by “we are not alone” is that people in the USA and Europe now as well, feel that the way we live and the conditions we live in are exactly how the rest of the world lives, we are very wrong. its not a question of being cultured or educated, its merely being ignorant to the fact that we are privileged at this time when it comes to our lifestyle and social standing. We have created, and we keep on creating, a new, connected, digital, crazy world that will probably be ironically, the root cause of our own destruction. pessimistic? I think not, I think realistic foresight would be more accurate. why is this important? well because since their conditions and lifestyles are so different, then obviously, they also think differently and feel differently about many things, especially moral and political issues. (i should never use the term moral and politics in the same sentence, or even paragraph, hell, any relation of the two in any way, shape or form). Interestingly Wikipedia states: “Politics is the process by which groups of people make decisions.” it also states that “observed in all human group interactions, including corporate, academic, and religious institutions”, why did I include this? Well, since I need to show that the principles, moral values, lifestyle, education, social standing, religion, race and other factors, all contribute to the way people think throughout the world. There has been a “clash of civilizations” for many, many centuries now, that I only mention to give you some idea of how great this challenge really is. You probably asked yourself, “challenge” ? Well, look at our world today, its completely fucked.
There is a new term being used a lot these days, and its called “Geopolitics”, once again Wikipedia states “Geopolitics is the study that analyzes geography, history and social science” the first thing that pops on my mind is oil and any other natural resource which makes our dirty, polluted world go round. Ironically, most of this stuff is either in the old soviet bloc and the middle east, great! The same regions we have been “clashing” with for ages! I am a news junky, and have been one ever since the internet came into my life back in 1995, but ill try to stay on topic, which is rare for me.
So what is the problem? Well, if i had that answer, i would give it to the world and save it from the current path to hell its in. BUT! I can tell you this, we, “westerners” need to realize that the world we live in is not ours, and that we share it with many other cultures, races and just really great people, who are in no way inferior to us or uncilized, they just think differently and gangster rap cliché term, “product of their environment” and I don’t mean their physical, natural environment… I mean their social, religious and economical environment.
I just wish that the right people got a hint of just some of what I am trying to say, and realize that until we respect and learn to coexist peacefully with. Some people will try to say “well they throw rocks at woman dug into the ground until they are dead for adultery!” obviously, nobody in their right mind, anyone human, would feel that this form of punishment is just, but just as we feel murderers deserve the death penalty, the very unmoral practice of adultery to them is obviously a big no no in this society. But the fact of the matter is that if you look at the facts and do some research you will see that this practice of “stonning” was especially used back in the earlier Islamic period in which a woman committing adultery was the worst thing you could possibly do to a husband and completely destroyed the image of her family and bring shame upon her kids and of course abolish any hope of an ideal family. Why such a brutal punishment? I am guessing that it was only really there as a deterrent, and used very little to instil fear and also reflect their moral values to the world. I know that Iran, following Sharia law, must have this kind of punishment in their laws, but its really only there because it must according to Sharia law. It has been used a few times in some really, REALLY remote places in Iran, but its not common, and am sure it will become even less common. Other crimes such as rape for example, aren’t as severely punished as they are in the west in many of the Muslim countries because it is believed that if the woman was properly accompanied, like woman are expected to, and that she didn’t sexually provoke them, it wouldn’t of been likely to happen. Another one, and this is probably to me the scariest, in Saudi Arabia, if you are caught stealing, I think like it has to be alot, but if you are caught, and people saw you and testify, they will cut off your hand! Ooooo man! You know if we focused on China or North Korea, I bet you would be just as shocked to see how little value a single human life is in China, they are all about team work in every sense of the matter.
Back to our original topic, I could keep on writing forever until I fall asleep on the keyboard, but I think you got the idea… people think differently, and have different moral values. We have to really start thinking differently on how to deal with this problem or we will keep on seeing things like the Genocide of the Palestinian people by the “Zionist Nation”, Israel.
I officially, and fully, decommission any respect or pity I had for the Israeli people, I just hope Iran wakes up and really follows through with what their president wants!
