Hello friends! I recently did an intensive benchmark using Futuremark’s great browser benchmarking tool, Peacekeeper. Anyone can simply go to the Peacekeeper website and run a benchmark that only takes about 15-20 minutes. Anyway, here is a benchmark I did on the same exact machine. (Quad-Core Xeon, 12GB RAM, Quadro Graphics, Latest Flash/Java, Windows 7 64-Bit)
As you can see, Opera 11 clearly wins. After you run a benchmark, it actually tells you who had the highest score so far… here is a screenshot of that;
And finally, here are the average results that are on the website for all of the mainstream browsers. (Note: Opera 11 is not included when its been out for over a month now! (non-beta))
My final thoughts are that Opera 11 is clearly in the lead right now, but in terms of functionality, features and compatibility, it is not in the lead at all. I still prefer Firefox and and I very much looking forward to FF 4.0. I do have Opera 11 and Chrome on my systems, but I use them only for browsing the news or looking up something in Google really quick. The Xmarks utility is a must for me and is not yet compatible with Opera 11, so until then, I cant even consider it as my main browser.
What are your thoughts?
